Table Selection in MDR on Allure

Recommended Posts

Are we assigned a table in the MDR? I thought I had read somewhere that you have the option of where you can sit. It's just going to be my boyfriend and I sailing on Allure next May celebrating our anniversary and my graduation from college. Not particular about where we sit, but was wondering if there was an option to choose whether we can just get a table for the two of us, or sit with other couples.

Thanks!

If you are booked into My Time Dining, they seat your party as you arrive...you will be seated alone.

If you have one of the traditional dining times, you will be assigned a table, usually with others. It's fun to have folks to talk to! You can request a table alone, and they will do their best....but you won't have the option of sitting with others if you do that.

We find that we have so much "alone" time during the day and night, that having folks to chat with for dinner is quite pleasant!

Hi lovinthesea89,

If you ask for "My Time Dining" when you booked, you will not be assigned to a table. You can simply walk up to the Maitre d and ask to be seated or you can reserve a time to dine that you can change on any night. In our experience, MTD folks are usually in larger groups and are seated generally in the same area of the dining room each evening. On the Oasis, we did MTD and sat at the same table with the same servers every night (we ate each night at 7:30).

If you asked for first or second seating in the MDR (or did not specify a dining seating), you will have an assigned table. With just the two of you and MDR seating, you may get a table for two or be seated at a larger table with one or more couples. Royal Carib. does have a formula to seat people with compatible folks but it does break down horribly sometimes as well. DW and I once was placed a table of all Spanish speakers. We asked to be moved and were sent to a table of all French speakers! So much for that... That "formula" was also discussed here a few months back and I think many of us still beleive they use darts to assign tables at the first and second seating.

Hope this helps...
