cruiser81!* Posted October 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2012 i wanted to see if anyone's been to las palmas/pirates bay recently. Do they still have the free shuttle that's been talked about on here in past threads? What's the cost to get in and what does it include? Thanks!!:)

MenehuneMedia Posted July 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Was there one week ago today (7/9/2015) & do NOT recommend it. There is no free shuttle, but we did take the Las Palmas Beach Express excursion from the ship. $26 got you round trip shuttle to Pirate Bay, a lounge chair & a glass of melon punch. It also got me a case of gastrointestinal distress & for another family on our excursion, a life-shattering tragedy when one of the men drowned. I'm pretty confident my problem was from what looked like a pipe going from the restrooms down into the water. The man may have left the beach with his life 1) if the roped off swimming area hadn't gone so far from shore 2) if there had been water rescue equipment available. There wasn't even a boogie board or a rope with a ring anywhere. 3) if there had been a lifeguard or even an employee to help the man when he got into trouble - Instead the FAMILY had to go out to get him. 4) if the paramedics had the equipment needed to help. There wasn't an AED available even after the ambulance and doctor arrived.
