cram33 Posted May 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2005 You are better off waiting until you are docled at Hamilton or Dock Yard. If you look at a map, you will se it is not very close.
Host Kewlguy Posted May 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2005 About an hour. More than $60.00+tip. I'd take a bus instead. We took a bus from St George's to Hamilton, then a second bus from Hamilton to the south shore. This took about 90 minutes total.
CRUISERG Posted May 25, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Thanks for the reply - unfortunately the majesty only goes to St. George. Did you mean 60 one way or round trip to go by taxi?

Susan-M Posted May 26, 2005 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Bus #10 & #11 from St. Georges to Hamilton takes 50 minutes; from there, bus # 7 to Horseshoe Bay takes 20-25 mins. The buses run every 15-30 minutes depending on the time of day. You can check schedules at - http://www.gov.bm/portal/server.pt?space=CommunityPage&control=SetCommunity&CommunityID=252 To see the schedule for each route, just click on the colored bar beside the route #. You can pick up a bus schedule with map at the Visitors Centre in the Town Square at St. George. If you want info on other means of transportation, see: http://www.bermuda-online.org/getround.htm In the "Taxi" section, sample fares are shown from the airport (near St. George) to various destinations. For example, the fare from airport to Fairmont Southhampton (very close to Horseshoe) is between $26.-$33. + 20% fare increase, plus 15% tip (as per the fine print) - so it looks like $45. one way for up to 4 people. Once you are in Bermuda, check with a taxi driver re fares, as opposed to asking at the tourist office. This is from the above web site: "Residents or visitors requiring more details of taxi fares which are Bermuda Government approved and regulated, should get them from Bermuda's Ministry of Transport." Perhaps an email to them will provide you with the info you need so that you can decide between bus and taxi. And one final note, taxi fares are the same whether it's one or four people, so there are times when it may be more economical to go by taxi.
