What island is best to buy perfume?

 

Cozumel, Cayman Islands,Belize or Roatan

I would like to know too..wondering if is cheaper than duty free? (We go to Grand Caymen and Montego Bay)

Cayman Island would be more expensive than what you can buy for at home, for 1 Cayman dollar ,you pay 1.25 US . Jamaica not much choice

low quality . I've been to Montego Bay , almost like a 3rd world country

I do not use perfume, so I don't know for certain, but I would bet money on Cozumel being the cheapest. Roatan and Grand Cayman are very expensive for almost everything. Belize is decent for hand-crafted items, but I think it was higher-priced on things like alcohol, jewelry, etc. Cozumel is reasonably priced for most things.

Actually the best port is St Thomas

 

but that being said-- most perfumes cost the same as the states-- you save the tax.

 

Price it at home-- price it on the ship=- if you find it cheaper on the islands you will know you got a good deal.

Cozumel, without a doubt. As others have mentioned, Grand Cayman is great, but not for shopping bargains! Roatan and Belize won;t have a lot of variety, but Coz has shopping galore.

I use a Chanel perfume and usually buy a bottle yearly on our cruise. The prices are lower out of the US, but only savings are taxes (duty free), so no great bargains.

 

I typically save $10/bottle. I know they will not bargain with the high end fragrances (price has always been identical on all islands, and we've been to most of them) but not sure if they're more negotiable on the lower end price points.

 

I have also found the ship price is typically the same as you can get on shore.

 

Know the US price and see what you can find! Have fun!

Yes, St Thomas and St Maarten have good duty free prices but I'm not cruising there this time. :D

I think my wife has said that buying things in Roatan or Cozumel was cheaper then anywhere else
