We tried to do this two summers ago (our cruise ended in PR and our flight didn't leave until late that night). None of the hotels were giving day passes that day (it was a holiday weekend). I called so many hotels a day or two before we would arrive- very frustrating. You might have better luck calling or emailing well in advance. And try posting on the San Juan Forum:

Hi, would like to spend afternoon and evening at an upscale hotel-beach in isla verdae. Any suggestions ? Day passes?

Although it may not be located in Isla Verde (it is adjacent to the Condado area)

we were able to get day passes at the Caribe Hilton. It is only a 15 minye cab ride from the pier. I believe the day passes were $50 p/p. Just walk up to the front desk in the open air lobby.

You get access to a changing room and towels (as I recall).

There is a beautiful pool area on the property surrounded by palm trees. Several serving stations are located in that area. Plus there is a protected sheltered beach area for salt water swimming.

To me the close access to the pier and the beauty of the property make this a winner.

The property is not a large one. They do have a beautiful walk way against the sea wall which looks out over the ocean.

Enjoy your cruise.
