vasilos Posted October 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2012 We will be in Toulon for one day (cruise stop), and we would like to rent a car and drive to Cassis for the day. We will drive to Cassis via the motorway and then return along the coastal road. Has anyone done this and will it be worthwhile? Loonbeam Posted October 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2012 We didn't drive that route ourselves, we had a private guide, but it was a very nice drive especially on the way back. Cassis is small and may be crowded, the big item there is to take a boat out to the various inlets. You can do a 3, 5 or 8 inlet trip.. I think it was about a 45 minute drive back, allowing for traffic. If Cassis is your only planned stop, I would see if the cruise line offers an on your own option, so you can avoid tolls and hassle, especially if the tour returns via the coast. The town itself is very walkable. A cab may also be an option. We will be in Toulon for one day (cruise stop), and we would like to rent a car and drive to Cassis for the day.
