Trnkk Posted October 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2012 Last night I was at the Isle of Capris Casinos here in Black Hawk, Colorado they have a new point format for Craps game they added the Horn numbers (2,3,11 and 12) to the points so on each side of the table there are boxes for number 2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11 and 12 for you to place your bet, the 2 and 12 place bet will pay 6 to 1 and 3 and 11 will pay 3 to 1, the regular Horn and Hi-Lo-Yo one time bet is still on the table if you choose to bet, the pass line bet no longer pays on the 11 or loses on the crap (2,3,12) on the come out as they are now considered the point number. To accormodate with the added new boxes, the table is now expanded to be long and wide don't know exactly how long it is but it looks much longer than regular 18'. I did not play 'cause the table was full. Now comes the question.. Has anyone ever seen this anywhere at all? Is this a new trend? I would think it's even harder for the DI to gain control of the dice because of the added lenght of the throw as it's hard enough already as it is for the DI on the regular size table also it will ware your arm out much sooner too. Having said that I can see a serious money maker if one can establish a long throw especially throw a lot of Horn numbers, however I have yet to see a single DI here in Colorado myself included despite trying very hard to become one. I would love to see any DI to come here and play.. Dicenator..Casino Player..? Let me know if you're coming.
sailor_jimc Posted October 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Yes, I have seen it in Vegas. This is not true craps. This game is called "crapless craps". Basically any number but the 7 on the come out roll can be the point. So you can't lose on the come out roll (since all the craps numbers are now points) but you also lose the ability to win on the 11. I am sure the casino has a much bigger edge on this version but I would have to go consult the Wizard of Odds' website to give you the actual numbers. harcin Posted October 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2012 You lose the advantage on the come out roll. It' s gimmick game.
evergladesgator Posted October 31, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2012 Old, old game. Played in back in the 80's at the Stratosphere when Bob Stupak was owner of the place and he had space rockets hanging from the ceiling and the ceiling was painted like we were in outer space. Ole bob had so many gimmicks going then but it was fun. He gave out 500 bucks in free gaming chips for staying at the hotel. I put all the chips on the roulette table split on red and black but after thinking it over, i put an extra 25 bucks of my own on the 0 and 00. With my luck, the ball landed on the green . Still a nice payoff. Anyhow, back to crapless craps. I had ALL the numbers covered on my extended roll. The dealer next to me said he had never seen all the numbers covered in the time he was a dealer at the casino. It's a lot of odds against ya but it was a lot of fun. (Being i was winning) It's was also available in Biloxi at Boomtown when we were there a long time ago before all the hurricanes blew the place away. I would still give it a try for the fun of it.
