Laundromats on Sun Princess

I'm cruising with Princess for the first time next February and am not familiar with the use of the laundromats. How much do they charge for a wash and dry? Do you charge it on your card or do you have to have change? What hours are they opened? Thank you.

The machines take coins, 4 quarters to wash and 4 quarters to dry (although depending on what you are drying, it might take more time).

They also sell detergent if you forget to bring your own.

This is all done with coins and can not be charged to your cruise card.

You will need quarters for wash & dry and for detergent if you buy it there (small boxes). You can take your own detergent in a ziplock bag if you want. I forgot to do that and just bought on board. There were two washers and two dryers on each deck (stackables) and an iron and ironing board. There were two chairs in the laundry room as well on the Sun Princess.

 

Laundry rooms were open from 8 a.m. till about 11 p.m. every day. They got busier as the cruise went along (it was a 10 day trip). There was one day when people were running from deck to deck looking for a machine.

Do they operate on port days? How about during embarkation?

Just got off the Sun and found that if you need to do Laundry you have a better chance of getting a machine on day when the ship is in port. It worked for me!!!!!!!
