Sailaway487 Posted December 11, 2012 Author #156 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Not the best picture I know, but there's a picture from Twitter of a Christmas tree in the Medusa Lounge, and you can see it a bit in the background. Looks like new chairs, carpet and curtains. Gone for a red and grey theme: https://twitter.com/ThomsonHolidays/status/278543620590694400/photo/1/large

CRUISIN LINDA Posted December 11, 2012 #161 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Yeh, I'd be happy with ten days at sea :):):Don't you like sea days ? Not that many! When we went on IOTS I was so glad to get to Tenerife after 3 days at sea, especially as we had to miss out Madeira because the weather was so bad. One day is OK, two bearable, but any more and I am climbing the walls :D That's what I like about Thomson, fly somewhere and then a new place to visit every day :) Perhaps I shall start a new thread. What do you do on sea days?

What do you do on sea days? Good idea, Linda. Should be some fun suggestions!! :D Mine would be - Get up really early and put my towels on the sun beds and then go back to bed for 2 more hours sleep.:D Or put my cardie on a comfy seat in the bar if the weather is not very good? But being serious, I think I like to cruise to see places I have not been to before. If I had to choose to spend 6 days on a ship or a hotel, I would choose a hotel because I like to walk out and about but I also like to have somewhere to relax without fighting for a seat. Dreamgirl1957 Posted December 11, 2012 #163 Share Posted December 11, 2012 We were booked on P&O Ventura transatlantic this Nov but had to change it due to my husband's work commitments. I had been really looking forward to the sea days, think it was 3 to Madeira then 5 over to Caribbean. A comfy chair or hopefully sunlounger if hot enough, my Kimble and a cocktail or two with a swim every hour, bliss.....:D. But then again I would have possibly gone nuts by the time we saw land so maybe had a lucky escape !! ;);) Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk

What do you do on sea days? Think I would be climbing the walls with you, too Linda - odd, I know but I don't think I'd feel "safe" stuck in the middle of the ocean between Europe & Carribbean way too far away from land!! It would also do me in not being able to get off the ship and wander around and I would certainly get fed up fighting for a sunbed for endless days in a row! Talking of which, at this time of year, what's the weather like sailing transatlantic - when does it start to warm up & how rough is the sea??!! Dreamgirl1957 Posted December 11, 2012 #165 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Hi Julie, we we're told would be lovely from the day before Madeira and right across Atlantic as not as high up as if you are going to New York if that makes sense !! Spoke to a few who had done that route in Nov and said it was nice and warm all the way across but I suppose it's always a gamble :):) Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
