SCcruiser123 Posted November 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2012 I've booked a Bodden tour coming up and the reservation information says to pay in US dollars.
Oz9591 Posted November 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2012 It seems like we've paid with $100's before with no problem (when we had a big group of us), but I'm sure that smaller bills are easier for them to break. Most of the gift shops would only take smaller bills (or VISA/MC with a "tourist" fee added on!) and often gave the change in local currency. ** Hint: This is where the Bodden guide really helps-out, and made sure we were receiving the correct change! ** There is a local craft store in West End "Waves of Art" that we've hit on each trip and used our AMEX with no added fees or surprises when we return home! Great store if you're looking for more handmade items. Wife remembers one restaurant wouldn't accept a $20 that had been taped...but, Victor took it without question. Monkeylala Posted November 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Lots of places will not take any US currency with even small rips or tears let alone tape, Some with regukat USbusiness re not as picky , before forming an opininion, ask yourself, would your local store accept lempiras?
