m-of-connor Posted November 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2012 Was wondering if any of the locals could tell me if it is worth going. We will be cruising on the 18th of November and thought it would be nice to walk around Moody Gardens the night of the 17th. Just wondering if kids would enjoy it or not? crazy4themouse Posted November 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Festival of Lights is so beautiful... it will definitely put you in the holiday mood!! And new this year is snow tubing -- kids will love that. And if you hurry, there's a Groupon right now!! http://www.groupon.com/deals/moody-gardens-houston-
BallFour4 Posted November 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2012 It's a nice way to spend an evening. Some tips for Moody Gardens, the tickets can be purchased at any of the venues. We have seen a huge line at the entrance by the lights and walked right past them to get tickets in the IMAX line. Second, don't be fooled by the parking guys leading you to the lot across the street. Duck in the lot at the driveway right past the hotel, turn right and head down towards the pyramids. Works like a charm every time. Lastly, if you are a little restless after a drive then head down Ferry road, stay to the right and park by the Coast Guard Station. Walk on the ferry for a nifty 20 minute ride across the inlet to the bay. When you pass another ferry or see a ships wake look for the dolphins. blonde1981 Posted November 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2012 Yes it is worth it. When I went a few years ago they also offered ice skating. I would go every year if it was a little closer to downtown rather than Galveston.
