Payphones in Nassau

Hi....I was wondering if there are payphones readily available in Nassau? We're leaving our two daughters for the first time and were hoping to call them from a payphone using an international calling card. Thanks!

You'll have to purchase a calling card in the bahamas. US /International cards don't work from the bahamas. Calling Cards are avaiable in most of the souvenier shops and pharmacies around town and near the port. Phones are also nearby.

This is a really good thing for people to know. I was going to purchase an international calling card before my trip. Thank goodness I read fine print saying it will not work in the Bahamas so that I didn't waste my money.

Not that it really matters, but does anyone know why international calling cards purchased here in the states won't work in the Bahamas? Just curious :)
