klarocco Posted May 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2005 We are sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale and are arriving the night before we sail. Any suggestions on where a family of 5 (getting only 1 room or suite)can stay for the night? Children's ages 6,3,infant. Preferably a hotel that has shuttle service from the airport. klarocco
doone Posted May 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Embassy Suites should be good for you and your family.
Jim B Posted May 27, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Holiday Inn Express Convention Center would be good for you if they have rooms that would fit your needs. Walking distance to lots of places to eat.
c-to-sea Posted May 27, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2005 We were there last month and stayed at the Comfort Suites Airport and Cruise Port. They have shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port (5 minutes each). The rooms are suite-like with a sofa bed and mini-kitchenette. With a crib, this would do for your family quite nicely. Price was good - we foned the hotel direct and negotiated. It is on Federal Hwy near 17th. - lots of restaurants nearby and the hotel provides continental breakfast with do-it-yourself waffles. c-to-sea Posted May 28, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2005 We were two couples, both seniors and into the double senior discount. We each paid about 85.00. Not sure what you might get as a family but probably reasonable. There is an AAA discount as well.

miss hlywd Posted May 29, 2005 #13 Share Posted May 29, 2005 I believe all of the following have some type of suite that would accommodate you: Marriott Spring Hill Suites in Dania, La Quinta in Hollywood and the Sleep Inn in Dania. I'm fairly certain all of the above have airport and port shuttles as well as comp breakfast. Springhill also offers shuttles to the nearby shopping area where there are restaurants and a movie theater. La Quinta may as well. You may also want to consider staying on Hollywood Beach. There are many smaller hotels with larger suites. Few have shuttles or breakfasts, but you can get a room for about the same price as the chains and you have the bonus of spending the morning of your cruise on the beach. Remember, you usually don't have to be onboard till late afternoon. Hollywood Beach also has a great Boardwalk that you can go out for a family evening stroll if you don't arrive too late. There are lots of family-friendly restaurants along the broadwalk...Think pizza by the slice and $1 ice cream cones. You can find a full listing with individual's property links at www.visithollywood.org. I know the Atlantic Sands is a good one with full suites. Love to hear where you end up staying and how you like it.
