jimw Posted November 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I see that some GT resorts advertise unlimited shore diving. Anyone here ever done a shore dive there. With the price of a single or double tank boat dive--shore sounds really good. I dove the wall on 1 cruise there and it's astoundingly good. But, I wouldn't mind a shore thing for the price of a tank as well.
jimw Posted November 29, 2012 Author #2 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I've been doing some research on this. Pillory Beach has been recommended and Bohio Dive Resort is there. I emailed and asked about shore diving--they don't do shore, but one can snorkel. Their email today indicates they have wall snorkel trips for $40. They also rent kayaks, paddleboards, etc. They have a restaurant/bar. We are diving ths time with gtdiving.com across the street from Osprey Beach Hotel and I will ask about shore diving while we are there next week. Blue Water Dive is at the hotel, so I will ask there as well. We will probably snorkel or dive after our 1 tank wall dive. Pillory Beach and these resorts and dive shops are north of the cruise pier and require a taxi or shuttle for those lugging dive gear. Governors Beach has also been recommended as a shore dive and is south--to the right--off the cruise pier and walking distance. Osprey advertises unlimited shore diving with their dive packages, so maybe one of the 2 stores there will rent us tanks for shore diving............continued in a couple weeks!! w&k Posted November 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I was wondering this very thing when we went to Grand Turk - we went through Princess with Oasis, and were between the cruise ship and the beach. Thanks! Wendy
