slybear Posted November 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2012 No-the main dining rooms are NOT open for lunch on embarkation day. The lido buffet & fish & chips for sure will be open. Not sure about Guys Burgers & the Iguana Cafe as we were on the 1st cruise after upgrades & there was alot stuff going on onboard that day. momtofourkids Posted December 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 3, 2012 I am just off the Conquest today. The Main Dining room wasn't open for lunch but Guys Burger Joint will be open as well as the buffet.
berryhillmom Posted December 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Do they charge for the Guy's Burgers? I know when we took a RCCL cruise they charged extra for Johnny Rockets.
netsurfer Posted December 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2012 No extra charge. Also, no extra charge for the Iguana Cantina which was also delicious. Do they charge for the Guy's Burgers? I know when we took a RCCL cruise they charged extra for Johnny Rockets.
MrPete Posted December 3, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Only 2 or 3 Carnival ships open their MDR for lunch on embarkation day, and the Conquest is not one of them.
SkyMaster Posted December 3, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2012 I've been told that it depends on the "load" whether or not the dining room is open for lunch on embarkation day. I guess they figure that if there are so many souls aboard that the buffet will be overly crowded, they elect to open the dining room to take some of that crowd in a different direction. I know that we've sailed "Dream" a number of times, and only once, has the main dining room been open on embarkation day. "SKY"
