Chichen Itza Excursion with Carnival

We just got back from our Elation cruise and didn't find much information on this tour:

8:00am off the ship

8:15am bus #1

8:30am depart

10:20am arrive at tourist compound for 25mins of shopping/bathroom break. We received our bag lunch which consisted of a mystery meat/cheese sandwich, bag of chips, banana, candy and bottle of water.

10:45am depart

11:00am arrive at Chichen Itza

1hr guided tour to main Castillo/main ball court

1hr free time to explore

1:00pm depart Chichen Itza

3:15pm arrive back at port (little to no time for shopping at the pier) many waited until around 3:45 to board so the lines were long. Bus #2 was 15mins behind ours. Try to get bus #1.

3:30pm all aboard

4:00pm depart

My wife took the tour while I bypassed the group and went on my own. In the 2hrs I managed to see the entire site as I brought a map with me. I suggest that you do the same. There are many vendors on the paths leading to the different areas. This was not a real problem like others reported. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen and a hat. Make sure to get a map. This is the map that I used: http://www.cancunmap.com/chichenitza-map.html
