Panama Canal - View from balcony or bow of ship?

Any opinions from folks that have sailed Panama Canal crossing if there is any difference of viewing the passage from a balcony or bow of the ship?

As you have already read there is a huge difference! DW watched from the air-conditioned comfort of the highest lounge. I watched from everywhere, quite a bit from the bow, but in the locks I preferred the lowest I could be outdoors on the side to watch the men and machinery that make the canal work.

It has been many years, but I will never forget the transit Don't limit yourself to just one location.

Cruising through the canal recently, it was interesting to see the construction areas where they are working on expanding the canal and installing the new locks.

In one section of the canal, the work is taking place off on the port side, and in another section on the starboard side.

You get much more expansive views of those areas looking out from the upper decks than can be had from any of the balconies or decks lower down.

For those who go through the canal this year and get to see the work in progress, it will be even more interesting to go back again on a ship that will take you through the new locks after the expansion is complete.
