Things to do in Kailua Kona and Hilo

Hello, my husband and myself are taking a cruise to Hawaii at Rhapsody of the Seas on Apr 27th, 2010. We are both around 30 and looking for things to do in Kailua Kona and Hilo. The excursions provided by RCI are expensive and not that appealing. What are the best things to do there?

Hello, my husband and myself are taking a cruise to Hawaii at Rhapsody of the Seas on Apr 27th, 2010. We are both around 30 and looking for things to do in Kailua Kona and Hilo. The excursions provided by RCI are expensive and not that appealing. What are the best things to do there?

In Hilo, most will probably tell you to rent a car and go to Volcanoes National Park--you can find lots of info on these boards about it. You can also visit Akaka or Rainbow Falls. You may also want to visit a Black Sand Beach.

I like the Hawaii beach a lot.. last summer I spent there and it was like a dream come true.
