Difference Between NCL and Princess

hi! i just booked my 2nd cruise ever, on the pride of america to hawaii. my first cruise was with princess to the panama canal.

 

for those of you that have sailed with princess before, what are the differences between them and ncl? what's better on ncl? what's worse?

 

i've been browsing through the board but not intently reading as my cruise is not for ahwile (feels like forever!). do i need to prebook all shows/night entertainment? is any alcohol allowed on board? dining seems like it might be really different, is it?

NCL is all freestyle, all the time. You cannot bring alcohol on board with the exception of wine, and you will pay $15 per standard-sized bottle to do that.
