ToddWelch Posted January 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2013 I am travelling on the Valor with a large family group this month. We all play poker at home and would like to setup a couple of tournament style games for just our group. Has anyone heard of this being possible? Do they have poker chips avaiable for use (not actual casino chips)...I heard there is sometimes a card room on the ships? We just don't want to bring our own as they are heavy and we are flying to Miami and back. Just curious incase I am missing out on something. huntm Posted January 3, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2013 I was on one cruise where independent table games were set up in a side room, but the people acquired permission prior to boarding and brought on all their own chips and tables. Robwerks Posted January 3, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2013 We have set up hold'em tournaments within our group in the past. We simply find a table in a secluded part of the buffet area (or the fish n chips area on Conquest class). We don't do this at peak times. We bring our own chips and cards. We get around the chip bringing by splitting up the carrying. For example you bring 50 blue chips, another 50 white chips, etc. Nobody has that much extra weight to be concerned about. Nobody ever bothered us or even inquired as to what we were doing. Enjoy!!
allener58 Posted January 3, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2013 Last time I was on the Valor there was no poker room. They have a Texas Hold Em game. It is an electronic table.
