TerReuv Posted January 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2013 Question on three hotels I am looking at. All 3 have pretty good reviews on Trip Advisor. Anyone know anything about the Quality Inn Maison St. Charles or the Avenue Plaza by Wyndham also on St. Charles or the Clarion Inn & Suites on Canal Street. From what I understand the trolley stops practically in front of the Quality Inn & the Avenue. Iknow it is down right now but we won't be going til October. Also, if any local is here - is there something going on in NOLA the weekend of the 18th & 19th of October? Rates seem to really jump then. Thanks for any info! The Clarion is on Canal St...so if you want to be in the French Quarter, or be able to walk around the Quarter from your hotel, this is the best. Of other 2 choices, the Avenue Plaza is the nicest, it's actually a timeshare property, but it's the furthest away from the French Quarter. It's probably the nicest place of the 3...and the streetcar does pass in front of both places on St. Charles. This is going on the weekend of Oct. 18th. http://www.jazzandheritage.org/blues-fest/
TerReuv Posted January 4, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2013 That sure explains the jump in some pricing! We don't mind walking and want to see as much as we can. Might even have to check out the Festival. Looks like it might be near us if we stay at either the Quality Inn Maison or Avenue Plaza. Thanks!
