Wine Packages...purely conjecture

As others have stated, at the moment you only have the option of buying the platinum wine package (trust me, it's the only choice for our upcoming cruise). Someone recently posted that they spoke to a rep who said that they were making changes to the packages as of Jan 1st and only the platinum would be available. So, on the first I called an account specialist to ask about the changes. She promised to get answers and call me back by today (which she did). What she told me today was that they are making major changes to the wine packages, but she couldn't share anything with me because they haven't made the official announcement yet. She did say that the gold and diamond package would not return, but the platinum would remain.

 

So, I'm curious what these 'major' changes could be? I'm wondering if they listened to the masses here on CC about not being happy with the wine choices on the all-inclusive premium package and maybe they are going to announce some kind of "by-the-glass" all-inclusive wine package (similar to the beer package with a limit on price per glass). They did actually listen to people who were unhappy about the soda cup not being included in the premium package, because the rep told me that you can now buy the cup for a one time change of $4.95 with the package... So, that's a good change. She also said they should be making the official announcement by the end of the month.

 

So, what do you suppose this major change could be? Do you think they'll add an all-inclusive wine package to accompany the beer and premium packages added last month?
