Decpl Posted January 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Hello everyone, wife and I have a question, we are a couple 59/58 and have never cruised Carnival. We are platnum on Princess and sailed most of the other lines. We were thinking of trying the Glory or the Liberty. But have concerns about being on the older end of the cruisers. Hows does this ships compare to Princess or RCCL with shows , food and amount of chrildren? Thanks for any help Kand J
Room Service! Posted January 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2013 You will find all ages on CCL. As far as how many kids ... depends on when you go. Give it a try. That's the only way you'll know if it's for you. We've sailed RCCL and Celebrity, they really aren't all that different.
Breadman54 Posted January 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2013 My wife and I are 59/55 and have been on 10 cruises all with Carnaval. On Carnaval I never found age to be an issue.Matter of fact my wife says I act like I'm 39 when I'm on the ship, having fun all the time and not caring how I act.I act just like one of the boys hanging out in the casino(most of the time) then at the pools.Just enjoying myself as I plan for this one time a year and have a blast. As far as food, buffets remind me of Golden Caroal(resturant),so we mainly eat in the MDR or the specilty resturant. No real problem with kids(don't go on spring break). PAPERBKWRITER Posted January 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2013 We cruise 'em all (platinum on Carnival) and haven't been on a bad cruise yet. IMO RCCL has better entertainment but many cabins are smaller than Carnival's. Most Carnival standard cabins are 185sq ft. A good size by cruise ship standards. Otherwise both experiences are pretty similar...Princess; as you already know, a cut above RCCL and the same for Carnival. Age; all age groups and Carnival will ususally seat you with folks in your age group. I don't think you'll be disappointed, especially with the savings you'll get.
