lingram001 Posted January 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2013 I understand that the Fascination goes into dry dock today, any updates about the changes happening to the ship? I will be on the Fascination in May. Thank you for your help.
Mrs CruisinCritter Posted January 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Other than new carpets and general maintenance, they are turning the two outdoor bars on the Lido deck into the Red Frog Rum Bar and the Blue Iguana Tequila bar. That's all the crew mentioned when we cruised in November.
lingram001 Posted January 5, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Thanks for the info. There was conflicting information around and I just wanted to know what was actually taking place. Thanks again
Mrs CruisinCritter Posted January 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2013 They may be doing some other things, but the bars are the big ones. I hope they make some sort of announcement about it and don't make us wait until the first group cruises after dry dock. We are wanting to do another cruise on her this year so I would love to know everything being done.
kingoftheicedragons Posted January 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2013 I know that after dry dock, Fascination is supposed to have the Taste Bar, Punchliner Brunch, and the Hasboro games, and the two production shows are supposedly changing. Anything other than that I'm not sure on. We'll be on her in three weeks. Can't wait.

gusandgidgetsmom Posted January 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2013 They mentioned when we were on her in Oct that the show productions were also getting changed after dry dock as well as the other things that have been mentioned. Hope they redo the floors between the wok place and the lido buffet as they were getting pretty shabby.

kingoftheicedragons Posted February 9, 2013 #14 Share Posted February 9, 2013 Two of the three 2.0 upgrades could have been done without any dry dock at all--the branding of the punchliners with the George Lopez name, and DJ IRIE. The other 2.0 upgrade was the Playlist Productions.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted February 9, 2013 #15 Share Posted February 9, 2013 We strayed away from Carnival back in 09 took RC cruises because we did not like the Fascination as far as food (variety, selection) and entertainment. This past October we came back to Carnival and took the Dream only because going on the same RC ship 4 times got to be "same" and wanted a change of pace and only wanted to use Pt. Canaveral as we live not far from there. The Dream blew us way out, amazing, on par with RC. Now we are going on the Fascination, I know its older ship and it is only a 5 night cruise and the short cruises Carnival doesn't give you all the selection/variety and decent food as the Dream gives. My questions are and maybe some of you can help me: 1- Does the Fascination have Punchliners Breakfast? 2- What time is the MDR open during sea days and port days for breakfast 3- What time is the breakfast buffet served till 4- On the lunch buffets did they have any meat carvings and assortment of veggies (our last Fascination cruise there were no meat carvings, no soup only one veggie each day and 90% fast food type foods which we do not eat) 5- What is the entertainment and is it ok? 6- Any good idea which slot machine is best? 7- Did she rock alot lol we have a verandach mini suite all the way on top lol
