Dear runnermom,
We also tried NCL once. My wife and I always seem to go back to Princess. It's just the right fit for us. We found Carnival to be a little to casual. By that I mean the cruise staff and service. There's nothing wrong with friendly, but when a waiter comes over and says "What do you guys want to eat?" that's a little to casual. We were hardly ever met with a smile or a hello unless we initiated the conversation. I didn't feel it appropriate to pull the dining room staff away from their duties to get up on tables to sing and dance in the middle of dinner. I'm sure many people have no problem with these things, it's just not what we are looking for in a cruise line.
