Independent Day in Victoria

Already checked the roll call and nothing there. Want to spend more than the excursion time alloted at Buchart Gardens. Has anyone taken a charter or a bus there and back to the pier?

Question for you - how long is your ship in port in Victoria? If it is only for a few hours, then I highly suggest you stick with the ship's excursion so that you get back to the ship in time for departure. If you are there all day, then there are a couple of ways to get out there and back. Here is a link to the page on the Garden's website that talks about getting to there; scroll down until you see the bus links. Either public bus or via Cruise Victoria buses.

We used the Cruise Victoria bus several years ago. It was great because there were buses running at different times. We purchased tickets and caught bus at Fairmont Empress Hotel, don't know how far that is from the cruise ship terminal as we were not on a cruise. We checked the time as we were getting close to being done at the Gardens so we could catch the next bus without having to wait too long, but you probably would want to count on the departure one time frame sooner than you would need to get back, just in case that bus was full and you had to wait until the next one. But it is a spectacular place to visit, do not miss it, and add plenty of extra time for the gift shop, one of the biggest and best I've ever seen.
