Rain gear?

Nah, enjoy the rain. They tend to be gentle showers (unless you happen to be here while we're having a hurricane :)). People that use umbrellas in Hawaii are immediately marked as tourists. :D

Ha ha! Spleen youre right.

Anyway, here on Oahu, the weather forcast is realy the same every day of the year. Sunny leward (the side where the wind doesnt come from...essentially west), party cloudy elsewhere, possible windward and mauka (mountain) showers. Highs in the 80's, winds 10-20 MPH. The big talk on the weather is the surf. Does anyone listen to the rest? (Sorry Sharrie Shima)

But really, that just means that unless youre in the mountains, or the entire island is forecasted for rain....you probably wont see more than a sunshower blown over from the mountains. And it feeels refreshing!

Now in the rainforests...... :)

If you're heading to Hilo and going to be doing any tours through there, then all you'll need is a rain poncho. We bought a couple in Honolulu and it was a good buy.(Only spent $3 each!) We went to Volcano National Park and it's a good thing we had them. Only one other couple was prepared with an umbrella so we were the only ones who went into the Thurston Lava Tube. Boy, were we the envy of the other passengers on our tour! It was more than a light mist but a mild downpour so we were lucky to have had them.

Have fun!
