me429sb Posted January 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2013 You should probably post this request in the roll call for your cruise. Go to the roll call section on the forums index page, select the cruise line, then the ship name and then scroll down to find your particular cruise. John Bull Posted January 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2013 There's no "cruise line" RollCall forum specific to Voyages of Discovery, so you'll need to trawl through the "other cruise lines" RollCalls, here: http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=72 Since VoD offer segments of about 14 days, its worth also looking for a thread for the change-over day in the middle of your cruise. But VoD roll-calls are pretty thin, even at this late stage you might need to start threads of your own for those two dates. And no guarantees of any responses. You don't quote your ports-of-call, but the east coast is very easy to DIY using taxis (or occasionally boats) hired in port, or in major ports by ho-ho or public transport. VoD passengers are a very friendly crowd and the ship is small - once aboard you'll find new friends wanting to share DIY shore trips, so don't be dis-heartened if you get no joy on the RollCall. Super little cruise line, great itineraries, the best crew I've ever come across. The big drawback with VoD has been the ship itself - ms Discovery is a very tired old lady. But ms Voyager, though still no youngster, is newer. She replaced ms Discovery at the end of November (the whole crew & operation switched ships), & I'm looking forward to appraisals JB :)
