Atlantis in Bahamas

When are you going? If you are going in high season, you should book with the cruise line ASAP. The park can get very crowded and close. If you are going off season you can buy your pass at Atlantis. Just take a cab..it's very close. Compare what you are getting for the money. When booking with the cruise line they sometimes offer a meal in the package. We have stopped in Atlantis numerous times on numerous cruises...mostly for the kids. When it is high season I would get off the ship EARLY to be the first in line to get on the shuttle. That is where it can eat up a ton of time. When you get to Atlantis they will shuffle you through this LONG walking tour of the place on the way to the water park. If time is precious, escape out of the line and head directly to the pool.(give some excuse.) We realized this the first time we went because we had a wheelchair with us and got to go directly to the pool. Since then, we never hang with the group but head directly to the pools. We sit by a snack bar, on the beach side by one of the pools. There is a bathroom there too and is a little easier to find when looking for your chairs. It also had some live music which helped audibly to find the chairs too. Make sure that your family has a landmark to look for if they get separated, in order to know where your chairs are.

This place can be DAUNTING, it is soooo massive. Also if crowded it can be very tough to find a chaise let alone some shade....so breaking off from the group gives you the head start on the chairs over the group coming in. They supply towels there too.

Naturally if you are going off season, just some of this is helpful. On that note....we once went in January/Feb and we brought wet suits. The water can be cold but we had the park to ourselves! We used the wetsuits on the flow riders on the ship too! We also had the evening flow riders on the ship to ourselves because of the wet suits! On the Oasis and Allure they rent wet suits...all sizes, if you don't own any.
