Carnival Freedom New Year's Eve Cruise Review!!!

Nassau

Our final port was Nassau. Having been here before, it wasn’t a port I was initially looking forward to. We’ve done various things in Nassau but this time, I was really interested in checking out the aquarium in Atlantis. I’m really fascinated with marine life so I thought it would be neat to check out. We did this excursion through Carnival. The price difference was minimal compared to doing it on your own (maybe $5 - $10). It was a bit confusing when they rounded us all up at the port as there were so many excursions for Atlantis, but eventually we were put into buses and we took off. Upon entering Atlantis, we were paired up with a tour guide. First they take you through the shops, through the casino to get to The Dig. If you love marine life, this is definitely something to do. I was really in awe the whole time lol. Our tour guide was very informative regarding each exhibit. I felt it was definitely worth the price. There's one section where you can touch some sea creatures. It was neat to see and touch a live conch. After The Dig, DH and I went to see the Predator Lagoon and went to find the turtles (which are in a smaller outdoor pond away from the Dig. After everything, we were able to walk the grounds on our own (in doing so, we saw 3 stray cats…where did they come from?). As long as you kept your wristband on, you could walk the grounds as long as you wish. Overall, this was an awesome excursion!

VIFP -Past Guest Party

The party is the same as before but the drinks are bigger!!! I was happy. Full glass sizes as opposed to the smaller drinks they used to have. This makes going to the party worth it! And again, no limit to the amount you get. They made a few announcements about Carnival Sunshine and new itineraries (mostly European with a stop off in London!). They also honoured 4 people who had Diamond Status. One couple had sailed with Carnival for 236 days!

Embarkation

We were scheduled to dock at 8am but we docked at 6am. Announcements to leave started around 6:15. We chose self-embarkation and we were obviously not going to make it off the ship as we were the first deck to be called and we were barely awake. We took our time to get ready, went up to get breakfast, went back to get our stuff and we were off the ship. From the time we left our cabin to the time we got to the airport, it was only 40mins. We got to the airport just around 8am and then had to wait 3 hours for our flight home. We also had no issues with customs (Canadian or American) regarding the alcohol we bought.

So that's it for my review! I hope you enjoyed and learned something new. If you have any questions, ask away. Otherwise, happy cruising! :)

I was on the same cruise, I did have the free champagne on nye and pretty much as soon as the waiter left the bar the tray was empty. They were also serving it on embarkation day in the buffet. The pictures aren't working on the computer i'm on but can't wait to see them from home. We went to a different beach in Antigua (Jolly) the water was rough also but very milky blue. It was amazing but not clear.. Was it like that at Dickenson?

Oh yes, I read your review and some of your posts leading up to the cruise. Glad your kids had fun! The water at Dickenson wasn't too clear either. You definitely couldn't see to the bottom. I'd say it was slightly milky and also very cool.

I thought it was strange the colour of the water. Still amazing though. Your pics look good, I think I might be in one of the lol. I was right in the middle near the hot tubs for nye. I couldn't figure out how to add pics to my review, no comments on the review anyway though.
