Verizon signals around the islands

We'll be on the Wind in three weeks--because we are taking an extra long vacation, I will need to contact my office periodically. Is Verizon coverage OK from Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Hawaii, or should I look into an internet package to keep in touch??

We have Verizon and it worked great on all the islands.

Verizon most certainly works on all the islands. Hubby had to call in every day we were in port and not even roaming charges were incurred!

Just one comment about Verizon. DW and I were hiking the Napau trail out to the base of Pu'u O'o in the area technically known as the middle of nowhere (in the pouring rain - we didn't see a SINGLE OTHER PERSON on the entire 20+ mile hike that day... so okay, we're kind of nuts) and my cell phone chirped. Kind of weird to be chatting with a person in Seattle while navigating between pahoehoe cairns in the fog and rain. Of course, the first thing we told the friend was, "You won't BELIEVE where we are."

 

I expected that guy from the commercials to walk by: "Can you hear me now? Good."
