RetiredFL Posted January 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Can any recent traveler advise if in the international transit terminal, Terminal 1, there are charging stations for electronic gear? How do you pay, if you pay, and what type of plug is necessary. After 11 hours from SFO we will need to try and recharge before an 8 hour flight to Singapore. Thanks. Check plane info at seatguru.com; your plane may have plug in power at your seat.

Philob Posted January 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2013 http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/travel/panf/index.html Here's some info from the airport website. There's a couple of lounges and day facilities that you may want to use if you're staying long enough. I've been thru Narita a dozen times in the past few years and I never looked, sorry. BruceMuzz Posted January 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Narita has many free charging stations located all over the airport. If you do not find them, there are plenty standard electric power points located all over the place. You can also charge equipment in any of the airline VIP lounges. East Japan electric power is 100 volts, 60 cycles - nearly identical to the USA. Your American electronics will work very well there. Power points are nearly identical to those in the USA; 2 flat pins.
RetiredFL Posted January 17, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Thanks. We bought a tablet to watch movies on the LONG flights from SFO to Singapore with a plane change in Tokyo. I was just considering going to Best Buy to try and find an external battery to take with us but they are heavy. Assuming we have two hours plus in Narita I think we will have time for a quick charge to get us to Singapore. United is planning on having plugs at all seats but not until the end of 2013. Now lets hope we have not downloaded the same movies they will be showing on the plane:mad:.
