Shorts on a Summer Transatlantic?

Silly question but my daughter an I never check bags we only do carry ons, so every bit of space is at a premium. So will it be wasted space to pack shorts on a transatlanic scheduled for the last week in June?

 

My guess is it will be cool and windy...can anyone confirm??

I can confirm that early June is likely to be cold and windy. If you are lucky you will have sunny weather.

 

I would pack one pair of shorts each, but no more. Maybe something like a nylon.

 

You will also want to carry a light jacket with you.

I agree with the previous poster in regards to expecting it to be cool and breezy. When you are closer to land, it tends to be much warmer. Otherwise, the air temperature is greatly affected by the water temperature, which in the North Atlantic, tends to be chilly even in the warmest months. However, if the ship is going with the wind and the sun is out, it can be very pleasant in the more sheltered areas. A few hearty souls even lounged in bikini tops on our Eastbound cruise April 22 of this year.
