Barbados beach + lunch

AOS in June, in Barbados 7AM-5PM
Looking for pretty, calm beach for an hour or two of swimming, relaxing, then lunch and back to ship.
Thinking about Boatyard Beach. Should we have lunch there? How hard would it be to go elsewhere (Holetown, etc) for lunch.
Any suggestions?recommendations?

Let me offer you a couple of more choices other than The Boatyard, which is nice, but sometimes crowed and noisy.

A little further north, perhaps a 15 minute taxi ride from the ship there are two wonderful beaches with wonderful beach restaurants.

Kokomo’s and Bombas, both near Holetown in the Payne’s Bay area.

To find Kokomo’s, have your taxi driver drop you off at Folkstone Marine park (good snorkeling, poor beach). Walk about 200 yards to your left (facing the water) and you’ll find Kokomo’s. You’ll pass some good, sandy beach and lot’s of stuff to see before you get there. You can have your driver drop you off at 2nd. Street if you don’t want to walk the beach.

Great food, great drink (try the pina coladas) and live steel drum music many days of the week.

The other option is Bombas. A great, quiet beach. Gay and Wayne have some terrific food. I think you’ll love it. Popular with the locals.

You can e-mail them for their menu at bombas@caribsurf.com.

Where do we go? Either place as they are close to us. They are both wonderful!

Have a great time on the island.

This has become Blue Monkey Bar.

By Cocomo's, it is a good lunch stop, but the beach has been washed away.

What might work better is have someone drop you off (and pick you up) at Mullins Beach. Food, drink & water sports are available, and it's a great beach.
