Upgrades... how do they work and when and how do you get them

Hi Guys,

 

I have asked this question on another thread but did not receive a response. I am hoping someone can help me.

 

I have been reading alot on these boards about upgrades and I was wondering exactly how they work? How/When do you know you have been upgraded AND how likely are you to receive one?:confused:. We have booked thru a TA and already have our cabin #7253 Empress Deck, Inside Cabin.

1. You could get them by booking a Guarantee instead of a room.

 

2. The upgrade fairy (nobody really knows how this works).

 

Be careful what you wish for. In your case Carnival would consider an Outside View on the Riveria Deck an upgrade from an Empress inside. You probably wouldn't.

Since it sounds like you booked an assigned cabin, the likelyhood of you getting an upgrade is very, very rare.
