heron45 Posted January 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Has anyone visited Pedro St James while visiting the Cayman Islands? If so, how did you get there; tour or one your own? I would love to hear about your experience. Thanks.
newzandile Posted January 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2013 We visited when we were there for a week on our honeymoon so we drove ourselves. It is beautiful and if you like historical sites it is well worth it. We learned a lot from the guides who were in period costume and there was a very good museum. The theater and show about the house was neat. I'll see if I can find some pictures. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
c-leg5 Posted January 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Has anyone visited Pedro St James while visiting the Cayman Islands? If so, how did you get there; tour or one your own? I would love to hear about your experience. Thanks. We visited as part of a tour with Cayman Safari. http://www.caymansafari.com/ We enjoyed our tour and visited Pedro, the Botanic Gardens, lunch, several photo stops and the brewery. It should have included a stop at Rum Point but due to some "no-shows" delaying the start of our trip that stop had to be missed unforturnately in order to be back in time for the tender. heron45 Posted January 28, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Thanks for the information. It sounds like a great tour. Unfortunately our ship arrives at 8 AM and departs at 3 PM; not enough time for the caymen safari tour. Hopefully we will be able to hire a taxi and do it on our own. Deb922 Posted January 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2013 I just wanted to say something about Pedro St. James and Cayman Safari. We did Cayman Safari and it was great. It's a small group and can be tailored to the time you have. Shirley was our guide and she's the best. We went to Pedro St James and the Botanical Gardens, Morritts and lunch at Miss Vivines. Shirley knew everyone at everyplace we went, she knew every plant and every iguana. Her family has been on the island for generations and it was very interesting to hear about the island after Ivan. I want to say that it was great not to have to drive and let someone else figure out where to go. Anyways I just wanted to say that if you are interested, I would call and see if they can tailor the tout to your time constraints.
