jenna6164 Posted January 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Can someone tell me how feasible it is to get up to Houston International airport by 10:00 am if I leave Galviston on a Monday morning by 7:30 or 8:00? I've contacted Sam's limo for a quote. Would love to hear from locals or someone who has had to make this trip. Thanks:)
kwoody Posted January 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Can someone tell me how feasible it is to get up to Houston International airport by 10:00 am if I leave Galviston on a Monday morning by 7:30 or 8:00? I've contacted Sam's limo for a quote. Would love to hear from locals or someone who has had to make this trip. Thanks:) If you leave around that time there is a good chance you would hit some heavy traffic between belway 8 and 610 on 45. To play it safe I would possibly take the beltway around (a little longer but no traffic). That or hop on the HOV which will at least get you past the traffic south of I-10. With no traffic it takes me around 40-45m to get from Clear Lake area to IAH. Edit for clarity for a non houstonian: I would say it is possible but in general Houston traffic sucks. To play it safe you could take the toll road east up to IAH which would cost around $5-$6 to get around up there. Or you could take the normal way which shows 1hr15m MAP But there WILL be traffic going that way
MsChif Posted January 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2013 I'm not sure about the length of the trip, but my sister has used http://texasairportcar.com/ in the past for rides to & from the port. We also used them once for a night on the town in Galveston. Pretty reasonable & good service. Website is a bit cheezy, but he's a nice guy. missypriss19 Posted January 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2013 I live in the Clear Lake area. That is between Houston and Galveston and you could make it but it would be cutting it awfully close. Monday AM is the worst traffic time in Houston and 45 just to get to the beltway 8 can be a nightmare. Taking 146 up to I-10 maybe a better choice and less traffic. GweninTX Posted January 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2013 We used Extreme Elegance Limo (not at this time of morning) but had very good service and they had the best price. Good luck!
jenna6164 Posted January 28, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted January 28, 2013 It's been helpful. Still doing research. Looks like we'll need to leave Galveston early am to allow for traffic issues
