Confused!--Reservations for MDR on Dawn?

My wife and I like to have a set time for meals in the MDR so we can catch shows, etc. I'm getting conflicting messages from the board whether reservations can be made for the MDR for two people. Can one make reservations for the main dining room and how do you do it?

If you have concierge access (being Platinum past guest or staying in a suite), you can make the reservation through the concierge. Otherwise you're out of luck.

Actually this is incorrect. On our recent Dawn cruise we simply went to the Restaurant Reservations desk and made reservations for the MDR. I did not find out this was available until Monday evening, but I was still able to make 6:15 reservations for the Venetian every day from Wednesday through Saturday. When we showed up to eat, we walked right past everyone holding buzzers and waiting for a table.

The Restaurant Reservations desk is actually part of the Customer Service desk, on level 7, in the Atrium.

I would suggest getting to the desk as soon as possible after boarding the ship on Embarkation Day, as the line gets rather long, and the prime dining times can fill up pretty quickly.
