RC Allure-Discover Atlantis Tour-Bahamas

Has anyone taken this tour? Just wondering if the $59/person is worth it. Its 2 1/2 hrs and includes transportation, guided tour of The Dig & Predator Lagoon. I have an idea of transportation costs if we go on our own; The Dig is $25/person, but can't find any costs for Predator Lagoon which I assume is a separate cost. I'm thinking $59/person is a good value.

If you want to do it I would dso it with RCI as your time is very short in Nassau.

I too was wondering this. I am also sailing on the Allure for the very first time this May. I sailed on a Disney cruise last April which stopped in Nassau, however we never got off the ship as I was frankly scared having read about all the crime that goes on there. This time though I want to see Atlantis, as it is somewhere I would like to actually visit one day. I think that I will do this tour as it is safer to go with the cruise transportation, and also since all aboard is at 1:30pm it may be easier to get back in time. However, my question now is, it says you have some time afterwards to explore on your own but seeing as how it says the tour starts at 10:30am and is 2.5 hours long (till 1pm), it only gives you 1/2 hour? That's not much time to explore and get back on time. I wonder at what time the shuttle returns back to the ship?? Or is exploration time built into part of that 2.5 hours. I would love to see some of Atlantis on our own as well.

In reply to your questions...I'm just guessing but you probably won't have much time to explore on your own and I always find it safer to do tours/excursions through the cruise ship. If there is a problem getting back on time, etc. its the cruise ship's problem, not yours. They either wait for you or figure out how to get you to the next port. I have seen people left behind several times. Its not a pretty sight. Also, looking into costs: I figured either a ferry or taxi ride is $5-$6/person one-way (I think); a ticket to The Dig is either $25 or $40/person (I saw conflicting results for this cost and can't seem to find a clear answer) and I'm not sure if you have to pay extra for the Predator Lagoon. I've been to the Bahamas several times but never Atlantis so I really don't care about the casino or shopping. I'd say the excursion through RC is worth it. Besides you can always go back when you are on another cruise and go off on your own to see what you didn't see before. A great excuse for another cruise.:)
