Classic Tours in Ketchikan

We are planning our excursions for our Alaaka cruise. Has anyone done Classic Tours with Lois Munch? Or have any other suggestions.

We did not take her tour but she has gotten great reviews. My only concern and the reason we did not use her was that she had her own set tour that she gives and we wanted some flexibility in determining what we wanted to see.

I just went to the Classic Tours site, and it does say they do customized tours, so if that's something you're interested in, and this vendor has gotten good reviews, would be worth an inquiry...

If you tell Lois what you want to do she'll accomodate you. I think her tour is much better then the taxi cab tours. Lois is a Ketchikan icon. Her local and regional knowledge can't be beat.

Thanks Bear. Was seeking additional comments from those that have toured with her. I've done more searching and feel this would be a good fit for my senior parents vs a floatplane tour with others traveling in our party. Thanks!

When I was living in Ketchikan I'd talk to Lois often. She's a retired school teacher who knows just about everything and everyone in town. It was through her that I met a number of celebrity and vip clients for our bear tours. She's sought after by people that are looking for a unique experience.

 

I remember walking from the float plane dock back towards town and she stopped to pick me up. I got in the back seat as someone else was in the front. Had a nice conversation with the gentleman for about 5 minutes when Lois looked back at me and said "Scott, you don't know who this is do you?" Just then the man turned around and shook my hand and said "I'm Robin Williams". You just never knew who Lois was gonna have in the car.

We toured with Lois a few years ago. She is an awesome lady. Her tour is a pretty good overview of Ketchikan. I wish we could have done more, but we did get to see the rainforest and many bald eagles, and totem poles. I would have liked to seen the Salmon Ladder, so if you do her tour maybe she would take you there, too,
