BaldByChoice Posted February 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Actually, that title should be amended to "chasing Carnival for their refund..." Speaking specifically of the Mexican cruise scheduled to leave on January 13th but shortened by a day? Refunds of the one-day credit were supposed to come within two weeks, and then reading here and in other places were supposed to happen by Groundhog Day...we received a partial credit on Saturday, so we waited a couple more days and my fiancee called Carnival today, spending an hour in the process, only to be told that they put the remainder of the credit on an Amex card. Great....except, neither of us has one of those. Then she is told that she has to call the company that booked the cruise, and that Carnival for some inexplicable reason cannot help further. Any advice?
loxley Posted February 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2013 It is very possible if you booked with a TA that you paid them and then they paid Carnival with THEIR Amex card. If you didn't use a TA, it is just possible Carnival screwed up again. If you did use a TA, I would call them.

Your problem is with you and the travel agency. There is nothing carnival can do in this situation. Carnival refunded the travel agency who booked the cruise for you, and now it is up to your agency to get it back from them.

We did in fact use a TA, and that would make sense so we will go down that path...for now, anyway. Thanks for the quick response(s)!
