Hello,

We are looking for clean beaches to lounge at in both of these ports. We will have 6 children and are looking for a beach in both of these ports that offer activities like parasailing, jet ski rental, snorkeling etc. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Once you get off the boat, how do you get to this beach?

How far is it from the boat?

Taxi, it depends on what pier you dock at but prolly no more than 30 min. All the prices are listed on a big board at the taxi area. Natchi is $20 for up to 4 people

Thank's for the info about Paradise Beach.

On this trip, we are not going to pre-buy any excursions ... Just plan to get off the boat at Cozumel and do a little shopping, hit a few bars, eat some Mexican food and go to the beach and figure it all out once we get there.

Went to Cozumel about 9 years ago. We rented a jeep and drove around the island ... it was ok, but nothing spectacular.

Paradise Beach in Cozumel, or Mr. Sanchos. Do not go to Nachi Cocum. That is geared for couples and people who want peace and quiet and a mostly empty beach. Kids could still have fun there, but it's not geared for them, while Paradise Beach and Mr. Sanchos is. Paradise Beach has awesome water toys (inflated climbing mountain, inflated slides to climb up and slide down, other toys, trampolines, kayaks, a rowing-board thing, life jacket rental, snorkel equipment rental), all for $12pp. $2pp beach chair rental, pay for food/drink as you go. There is some good snorkeling (tons of fish) right around the end of the pier. Off the end of that pier is where they offer parasailing from. The perfect beach for families, kids, young adults, active people, or people who just enjoy watching others having a great time.

Mr. Sanchos has some water toys, and they have the option for all-inclusive food/drink. I have not been to this one, so I'm not sure how it compares in price or variety of water toys.

In Grand Cayman, 7-Mile Beach has plenty of options, but I don't know alot about them. Any of the beach clubs along that stretch are a short & cheap cab ride away. No reason to go through the cruiseline. Or, you could arrange to go swim with the stingrays and snorkel. We did that through Captain Marvins, one of the many that offer this type of excursion. Again, arrange it on your own, not through the cruiseline, and it'll be much cheaper.

Paradise Beach, Mr Sancho's is your best bet for a lot of water activities for kids. Nachi Cocum is a little more laid back but has a great pool. Not many "beach toys" per se. Snorkeling excursions are available for a fee there also. Best guac in Mexico! Less crowded but more expensive.

We go to the East side to avoid the massive cruise crowds. (Coz has gotten very crowded and sometimes has up to 7 or 8 ships in port on the same day. 80% of the cruisers go to about 4 of the beaches near the port. Although the East side is not great for swimming because of dangerous rip tides, it's way more scenic. It compares to Big Sur in California. Lots of fun restaurants and bars like Coconuts, Bob Marley's etc... but definitely more secluded. Just depends on what you want.

In Grand Cayman, 7 mile beach offers plenty of good family beaches. It's a very safe and clean island and easy to get around. You'll have a great time there! Not far from the pier is an Atlantis Submarine excursion. It's relatively cheap and offers a great view of some underwater reefs. It doesn't take long and offers kids a chance to see a lot of beautiful fish without actually snorkeling. I think Carnival offers it as an excursion but we always book it on our own as it's much cheaper.

Good luck:)
