My wife and I did a tour with Glory Tours a few years back . . . had a great tour and Sarah and the driver were were wonderful.

This time around my wife and I were contemplating hiring a taxi to take us to a few places not on the tour route.

Was wondering if these places are worth it, how much time would we average at each place and what it might cost us for the taxi?

Wildlife Refuge

Grenade Hall

St. Nicholas Abbey

Sunbury Plantation House

Sir Frank Hutchinson Sugar Museum

There seem to be a lot of drivers who hang out at the terminal offering to drive you around for the day. We thought about doing that but decided to go with one of Carson Moore's drivers. We're doing a 3-4 hr tour for $150US. For 4 people we thought that was pretty good.

A taxi should be about US$25/hr. for up to four (4) in the cab. NOT US$25/each.

You’ll find this rate outside the compound at the roundabout on Princess Alice Hwy.

A four (4) or five (5) hour tour should enable you to access:

The Crane

St. John’s Parish Church

Bathsheba

Wildlife Reserve

St. Nicholas Abbey

These are great attractions.

You may be limited to 15-30 minutes each, but you will be happy with what you saw.

I think you may be disappointed with Grenade Hall and The Frank Hutson Sugar machinery Museum. These are best left to another visit.

Have you seen our CAVES?

If a person spent one (1) week on the island, you’d be hard-pressed to see all the island has to offer.

We welcome you back to see the rest!:)
