cherokeesmom Posted September 3, 2004 #27 Share Posted September 3, 2004 To the poster who wanted somewhere to go in evening - El San Juan! Has very nice restaurants and casino, but mainly the architecture is great. We've stayed there several time, and absolutely love it. You can also go through the pool area and gardens to adjoining hotels/casinos.
paddy Anne Posted September 10, 2004 #28 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Since there are so many people on this topic with great things to say about PR then this is where to ask my question. I will be there is March with DH and two kids, 3 and 10. We don't usually like to shop and are not just beach bums. What would people recomend as the best thing(s) to do while there? We will be there in the daytime. Thanks for any advice.

Then wind your way down through town, seeing and shopping along the way. We did this with two 8 year olds, a 10 year old, and the rest of our extended family, all 16 of us! You can get a walking map from the visitors info building, near the pier. Have stayed, and looking forward to staying again in Jan.
paddy Anne Posted September 17, 2004 #30 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Thanks. Am also thinking of the caves. So many things so little time.
chicaletta Posted September 18, 2004 #31 Share Posted September 18, 2004 While in Puerto Rico I went to El Morro, El Yunque (great waterfall to go under to cool off), also the caves and I had a great time at all three. Also went to a park don't know the name so I call it the pigeon park (if you go you'll know why). I wouldn't recommend it. As far as the others go I'm sure your children will enjoy them all. paddy Anne Posted September 18, 2004 #32 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Chicaletta: Did you drive to the caves on your own or did you find a tour. If so what tour did you take? Thanks.
chicaletta Posted September 18, 2004 #33 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Paddy anne...Sorry I don't know about any of the tours. My fiance is from Puerto Rico and the only time I was there I flew and we drove the island. We were there a week, but I do remember we spent a whole day at El Yunque. If there for the day I would suggest El Morro and some sightseeing in San Juan. Or if I remember correctly the caves had a water park also that looked fun.
