san juan hotels

anyone have recommendations for san juan
hotels fairly close to the beach.
i have checked a few of the large resorts
and they are over 200$/day for november.

Last year our TA booked us at the Park Plaza Normandie hotel - it was very reasonable (check out the website) and had it's own beach and pool. It was clean - rooms were big. Not bad at all.

I went on Priceline on Saturday and put in $78 for a 3 star and got my bid accepted for the Caribe Hilton. Heard rooms are a little dated, but clean, but the grounds, 3 level pool and beach access are gorgeous. See pics at their website.
The first Pina Colada was poured there at the swim up bar in 1954.
I'll be there next weekend, so I'll let you know how is is.
