Karysa Posted February 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2013 Do I need to exchange money to Euros or will they accept US money Thanks for any help! US dollars are widely accepted. Look for restaurants on the French side that have a 1:1 exchange as well.
gtaylor Posted February 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2013 US dollars are widely accepted. Look for restaurants on the French side that have a 1:1 exchange as well. To expand on this just a bit, if a restaurant has an item priced at €10 and offers a 1:1 exchange, it would cost you $10. That's a good deal. If you were to exchange Dollars for Euros to spend, those 10 Euros would cost you on the order of $13 at today's rate. gary

gtaylor Posted February 27, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2013 I have never come across anyone on the island that would not accept US Dollars. The only 'problem' that I recall is a woman at Friar's Bay Beach selling trinkets gave us our change in Euros. gary
