cruisin'fool2 Posted June 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2005 You can view the QM2 docked in New York on a live web cam for the next couple of hours. Here's the link: http://live7.truelook.com/face/newface.jsp?func=live&name=/strends/esb/NorthView&pan=-67.293766&tilt=-6.88814&panfov=7.566667&tiltfov=8.433334 Mike
JWB.ESQ Posted June 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Thanks, Mike. The following two sites also have live cams aimed at the pier. They don't zoom, but they do automatically refresh. You can save a sequence of images and make yourself a flip-book "movie" of your own departure! http://www.wirednewyork.com/webcam/ (bow on view from the East) http://home.att.net/~pied-piper-travel2/cam.htm (Starboard view from the South) Enjoy. Pincus Posted June 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Thanks to both of you for these wonderful cams. We are hoping to do a TA in the fall. Pincus
JWB.ESQ Posted June 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Thanks, especially to Mike for the Empire State Building link. If you have "Java" on your computer you can zoom and pan to follow the ship down the river to just about due West of the Empire State Building, at which point the building itself gets in the way. (Try 3-3.5X zoom) Switch to the"Statute of Liberty" view on the same site, and you can pull back the zoom and pan back upriver to again pick up the ship and follow her all the way down the bay, by panning and refreshing the image. Enjoy!
