Thomson Spirit Canceled

has any one got any news on the Thomson spirit . just been told port said has been cancelled of the trips. now stopping at port Alexandria for 2 days. :mad::(

I think you will still be able to go to Cairo from Alexandria, takes about 3 hours I think. It's probably a good idea really, Said is very volatile at the moment.

we have just received an email.confirming this from thomson for our sailing on the 6th march

We were on RSM in Jan./Feb. 2011 when the major unrest developed in Cairo etc.

 

Thomsons changed the itinerary to avoid trouble spots and we were very happy with the alternatives provided.

You can still do Cairo from Alexandria, and its a much 'nicer' area than Port Said. Its a long trip to Cairo either way, in an armed convoy! but well worth it. Enjoy!

went there last year both ports are very scruffy, everyone that went only got to the gate and turned back and got back on ship:mad:
