handbellplayer Posted April 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2004 We are booked with Godfrey the first week of May. I had originally thought we might go back to town or the ship after the tour, since we're not crazy about snorkeling or just sitting on the beach. If we decided to got to the beach, do any of them have a beachfront bar/restaurant where we might hang out instead? I'm not sure how much additional shopping my husband will be up for! I know Godfrey is willing to drop you off at one of several beaches. runner15km Posted April 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2004 The following post is from Linda: You may want to consider going to Morningstar Beach which is part of the Marriott Frenchman's Reef. You would need to take a cab there and it's only about a 5 minute ride from Havensight. Morningstar Beach has two bars/restaurants. There is Coco Joe's, which is right on the beach and Tavern on the Beach which is also on the beach just further down from Coco Joe's. Tavern on the Beach is REALLY fancy. Coco Joe's is more laid back and they have hammocks (swings?) upon which you can also sit. The Islander Posted April 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2004 I think Godfrey drops folks off at three beaches; Magens Bay, Coki or Sapphire... not sure if he goes to others. In any case Sapphire has a nice bar and Magens Bay does too. --Islander For more information on the Virgin Islands visit http://www.VInow.com the best guide to St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island. richtersl Posted April 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2004 Just as Islander says, Godfrey drops you off at any those three beaches. You choose which one of the three you want. If the conditions at those three are poor on the day of your tour, then he says he takes folks to Secret Harbor. At Secret Harbor there is also a nice bar/restaurant. If you want to forgo any of those choices, then you can just have him drop you off at the ship, where you can just put your purchases in your cabin and then hop on a cab to Morningstar. EBunny4U Posted April 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2004 We just got back last week and were booked with Godfrey. We had him drop us off at Sapphire and they have a beach bar there. He dropped some of the other folks off at Coki and it looked a lot more crowded then Sapphire. You will enjoy Godfrey, he is fantastic and worth every penny! kitty1 Posted May 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2004 We went to Sapphire Beach w/Godfrey. It was a Sunday and they had a band playing under the Gazebo. If you don't want to go swimming, you can hang out and listen to the music, or dance.
