JAGNYC Posted March 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2013 I have read that you can bring on a bottle of wine per person as long as carried on. I have never done this. questions: Is there a fee for this? Can you have during dinner? Anyone done this recently?
tonit964 Posted March 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2013 Yes, you can bring one bottle of wine or champagne per person in your carry on. No fee if you drink it in your cabin but you may be charged the corkage if you bring the bottle to the dining room. We have been hit or miss with the wait staff charging the corkage fee. dodgetrucksrule Posted March 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2013 There is a cordage fee IF you have the bottle opened in the MDR. You can bring your full wine glass to the MDR. You cabin steward can give you a corkscrew and wine glasses. You can also get wine glasses from any bar.
JAGNYC Posted March 5, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted March 5, 2013 Thanks everyone for the quick answers. So seems like some wait staff cage others don 't. Anyone know the fee? If it is a low fee it may still be worth it to bring a good bottle on and pay the fee-still less than wine list mark up I am sure!
SadieN Posted March 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2013 IIRC the corkage fee is $10. (It might have been raised recently to $15.)
cruisinJenF Posted March 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2013 It's $10 in the MDR but $14 or $15 in the Steakhouse.
golfadj Posted March 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2013 To get around the corkage fee we ask our steward to make sure we always have 4 white wine glasses in our stateroom and bring a large glass of wine to the DR on evenings when we want wine.
